Innovative, sustainable, and circular agricultural systems for the future

Abstract This special issue presents the outcomes from “ Designing sustainable and circular agricultural systems for year 2100 ,” joint scientific workshop of ISOFAR, Thünen-Institute, INRA-Morocco, which was held November 14 to 16, 2019 in Marrakesh, Morocco. Nineteen scientists a broad array background nationalities came together with understanding that food security globally is at risk, especially post-2050 timeframe. Current concepts, strategies, measures, efforts carried out by governments, NGOs, businesses, societies do not deliver satisfying solutions how sustainably produce enough healthy affordable support global population.
